How does the dental bridge process work?

The bridge process begins with adequately numbing the teeth of focus. Once numb, all decay, fractures, and excess filling materials are removed. We then will place what is called a buildup made of composite (white filling material) on the teeth which will help shape and contour the teeth.

Once the buildup is complete, the teeth will be reduced conservatively all around in order for the crown to have a tight fit.  Then with the CEREC technology and CAD/CAM equipment, custom designed crowns will be fabricated and sent to a laboratory along with an impression of your bite to create your final bridge. In the meantime, we will design an acrylic temporary bridge that you will wear for around 2-4 weeks until your final bridge is complete and sent back for insertion.  Once we receive the permanent bridge, we will fit it and ensure the fit is the best possible before permanently cementing it into your mouth.  Our dental professionals will equip you with post-operative instructions and home care to give your bridge optimal health and strength.
